Here is an example of a DIY job that will save the owner tons of dough.  We met at Dorado soapstone for them to pick out their two slabs and I cut all of their pieces to size or just to width so they can trim to length during installation.  The island is enormous 76×54.  The owners are going to hire a couple of movers to bring that in their house.  Pretty smart.

Here is the Minas kitchen I did last Friday on Veterans Day in a cool condo in an old firehouse.  

This sink is almost as big as the pallet…36×25 x7 1/4.  Pretty Minas stone with veining. 

I recently renovated the fireplace.  It had red brick around it and a red brick hearth and old broken brass doors.  In my excitement and haste I failed to take any before pictures.   Removed the hearth and then I finished the grade with leveling cement (love that stuff).  I chose to put bedding sand under the marble instead of thin set.  Hopefully that will help prevent expand and contract fissures, etc.  I got the new black door on craigslist.

It is an exciting day.

Cutting a circle was interesting as the goal is usually a perfectly square cut.  I used a 5 inch concave diamond blade and a home made compass!  16 inches in diameter with a negative angle for a table top for Blue Door designs in Boston.
